Calvert Brewing Company is hiring a packaging tech to assist with brewing operations in Upper Marlboro. This is a brewing associate position in a fast-growing brewery, and applicants should be career-minded individuals looking for growth and opportunity. Brewing associate will report to head brewer.
Packaging Tech
Duties and Requirements:
- Work in a team oriented environment.
- Operate canning line equipment.
- Ability to operate forklifts and move finished products & materials through the facility as directed to.
- Kegging beer and cleaning kegs.
- Loading/Unloading trucks
- Receiving
- Pulling orders for distributors and others
- Ability to frequently reach, twist, stoop, crouch, stand and walk for 8-10 hour shifts.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs and repeatedly maneuver 175lb kegs.
- Possess basic mechanical abilities with problem solving/troubleshooting skills.
- Comfortable working with chemicals of varying composition and maintaining adherence to safety standards at all times during routine cleaning of packaging equipment.
- Comfortable working with grain and hops.
- Work in a loud production environment and flexibility to work all shifts, additional hours and weekends as necessary.
- Follow company policies & procedures, reflect organizational core values and strive to maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills Requirements:
Minimum of 6 months experience at a similar sized or larger craft brewery or beverage manufacturer. (Or) similar work experience in a manufacturing or mechanical based job role. (Or) thorough knowledge of equipment, safety procedures and operational policies/procedures within Calvert Brewing Company Packaging Department. Completion of a High School Diploma or G.E.D.
A passion for, and working knowledge of, the brewing process is required.
