Brewer Needed for New Orleans Distillery
Brewer and Assistant Distiller Needed
New Orleans, LA
We are a mid-size distillery in the heart of New Orleans setting up to make vodka, gins, and whiskeys- really anything our experimental hearts desire. Currently we are in build-out, but we are looking for the right person to come join our small tribe. The right candidate is comfortable working independently as well as part of a diverse group, and they are meticulously clean in the workplace and NEVER need to be reminded, "if you have time to lean...." We are a group of professionals, but we’re also all thoroughly New Orleanian; we work hard, we play hard, and we are searching for a brewer that can get in with the New Orleans state of mind. If you've been here before, you get it, and if you haven't beware, "Only New Orleans is real. The rest is done with mirrors."
Requirements:
· At least 21 years of age
· Ability to lift 50lbs repeatedly
· Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment
· At least two years of professional brewing experience
· Extreme commitment to cleanliness, safety, and SOPs
· Ability to work independently while using common sense
· Meticulous attention to gauging spirits and recording production logs
Preferences:
· Some formal brewing/distilling education
· Welding experience
· Safety certifications (OSHA card, forklift certificate, etc.)
Responsibilities:
· Brewing for spirit production
· Working with the distiller to coordinate brewing and distilling efforts
· Cleaning production area
· Bottling as needed
· Recording all measurements and calculations as required for the TTB
· Facilitating grain removal after each brew cycle (we are planning for x3 a day)
· Plant maintenance as needed
· Distilling- if you are interested/experienced
· Barreling
