  • Head brewer for Liberati Brewing, Five Points, Denver CO

    This will be our first location in the US in which we are opening a 10bbl brewery producing experimental ales. Although the batches are 10bbl, we have a forest of conicals and brights to fill. The location is a 36.000SF building on 24th and Champa. We're looking for a person who possesses a passion for beer and the interest in learning and developing a unique brewing skillset. The owner is an experienced professional with a decade of proven international success.

    Qualifications and Requirements
    Passionate and willing to push brewing boundaries.
    Willing to brew with unconventional methods and solutions.
    Ready to find unconventional solutions to solve unconventional brewing problems.
    3+ yrs of Brewery experience. Brewpub experience is welcome but not essential.
    A formal brewing education mandatory, with comprehensive understanding of the fundamentals of brewing science.
    Preferably have an education and/or experience in winemaking.
    Have experience with handling barrels and wood vessels (cleaning, maintenance, etc).
    Preferably have experience with yeast cultures, propagation and basic lab operations.
    Experience with step mash, single step infusion and decoction.
    Experienced in water profile management.
    Preferably experienced on a broad selection of beer styles.
    Fluent in metric as standard, Plato as Gravity.
    Possess extensive knowledge of industry compliance standards including but not limited to OSHA and TTB.
    Ability to create SOPs.
    Ability to be directed and follow assignments, as well as bring ideas to the table.
    Have experience and proven planning and organizational skills.
    Experience with recipe software.
    Must be able to work alone as well as manage a brewery team.
    Multitasking.
    Self-motivated problem solver.
    Ability to perform physical labor.
    Must have flexible work schedule..... this is not a 9-5.
    Great communication skills and must be competent with MAC iWork bundle, Dropbox and Google Docs.
    Knowledge and experience on how to operate packaging of product ie: Keg filling and washing, bottle refermentation.
    Knowledge of how to purchase raw materials, yeast management and propagation.
    Detail oriented.
    Ability to perform inventory, yield and loss summaries.
    Have the ability to work in marketing and beer affiliated events.
    Preferably have experience with oximeters, cellometers, and basic testing equipment.
    Knowledgeable and experienced in line cleaning and bar operations.
