    Sales Manager

    The primary responsibility of the Sales Manager is to manage relationships with new and existing retail accounts in their assigned territory. This individual assists wholesale/distributor partners in securing and maintaining Pontoon placements in accounts where alcohol is consumed on premise or purchased for later consumption. This includes but is not limited to calling on hotels, restaurants, bars, convenience stores, grocery stores and liquor stores. Heading up beer festivals, events and other Pontoon related activities will be a fun but important factor with the position. This role will be crucial in the beginning and will have the ability to hire additional salesmen that will report to the Sales Manager as the company grows.

    Key Performance Measures Include:
    -Quarterly sales quotas by territory
    -Merchandising presence and promotional activations in the market
    -Customer relationships
    -Knowledge and presentation of your market and Pontoon’s presence in that market
    Typical Duties and Responsibilities Include:
    • Travel assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to promote Pontoon brands
    • Provide pricing and brand information to customers
    • Collect and recap up to date and accurate information about your territory
    • Resolve customer concerns and provide support to valued accounts
    • Maintain an accurate record of all sales calls, follow up needs and expenses
    • Strive to meet sales goals and expectations
    • Set up and execute beer events in the market
    • Work festivals and events on evenings and weekends
    • Work well in a team environment or on personal assignments in the market
    • Provide sales reports in a timely manner (weekly to CEO)
    • Increase merchandising presence in accounts through POS and product displays etc.
    • Increase pull through at the customer level through staff education and merchandising
    • Check that key customers are fully stocked by with company products
    • Build Pontoon brand in assigned market
    • Check products are well presented and within proper dating in all retail accounts
    • Other duties may be assigned

    Position Qualifications:
    • Ability to drive and maintain a valid driver’s license
    • Maintain at all times his/her own personal insurance with limits of bodily injury liability of at least $100,000/$300,000 and $50,000 property damage liability
    • High School diploma or GED required, B.A. or B.S. in business, communications or related field preferred
    • Minimum two years’ experience in the hospitality or restaurant industry needed, with at least three years sales experience, preferably at the distributor level, in beer, wine, or spirits
    • Experience selling in a competitive environment and effective territory management skills are preferred
    • Efficient time management skills and strong communication skills are a must
    • Position requires proficient use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point
    • Ability to exercise independent judgment to handle a variety of duties is needed in this role
    • Basic knowledge of beverage operations and experience coordinating beverage promotions is desired, as would be previous experience calling on accounts in the hospitality industry
    • Must be willing and able to travel and work evenings/weekends

    Physical Requirements:
    Driving city streets, sometimes in the evenings
    Long distance driving
    Ability to walk up to 1,000 yards with brand samples at customer locations
    Ability to ascend and descend stairs as necessary to call on various customer locations
    Ability to get in and out of vehicle up to 40 times per day, making up to 20 customer stops per day
    Ability to carry/lift 25-50 pound sample cases
