Beltway Brewing Company, a growing contract brewing company is seeking a Technical Sales Brewer to work as a key member of a high-performing, collaborative team applying innovative craft brewing techniques to design solutions for our clients. The Technical Sales Brewer will be expected to collect technical requirements, liaise with brand owners, manipulate and analyze recipes, and provide Production and Operations staff with clear guidance. We are looking for someone who has a passion for working with brewers and craft beer innovators, a solid understanding of the production brewing lifecycle, and an interest in the new world of social selling and marketing that we all live in.
The Technical Sales Brewer must leverage deep technical & brewing knowledge to explain how Beltway solutions can solve a client’s problems. You will be the front-line seller with the technical expertise needed to resolve client needs. You will maintain up-to-date product knowledge and understand industry trends. You will partner with the Production and Operation teams to ensure clients are receiving the support and products they need. Drive business growth by providing brewing expertise. Deliver value by matching your technical knowledge to client needs.
Opportunity Analysis
Generate leads through networking and relationship development
Follow-up with sales leads on a regular basis and document correspondence and progress in the CRM system
Gathers and assesses customer needs, both business and technical
Identifies client-specific parameters and constraints that impact the solution
Solution Planning and Design
Consult with prospects and clients on recipe design, development, and scaling to Beltway’s system
Effectively communicate Beltway’s equipment capabilities and suggest solutions to achieve customer’s desired goals.
Resolve differences in methods to process and techniques using scientific approach
Produce batch process documents
Client Relationship
Maintains excellent communications with client management; building client loyalty
Represents Beltway as technical expert with clients; shares knowledge in area of expertise.
Advances opportunities through the use of effective consultative selling techniques
Communicate updates with clients throughout the brew project lifespan and be the main point of contact for clients to reach out to for information
Business Acumen
Understands and applies basic financial and accounting concepts as well as capital investment concepts and applies them appropriately in positioning proposed solutions
Applies understanding of the client’s value chain and business requirements when designing and proposing solutions
Communicates the value of the solution in terms of financial return and impact on customer business goals Industry acumen
Experience:
Formal brewing education complimented by previous job experience in professional brewing.
A solid demonstration of brewing science knowledge, including water chemistry, mash schedule, hop isomerization, and fermentation science
At least 3 years of experience in a brewery production role
Professional recipe development experience in a wide variety of styles and ingredients
Experience working in a paperless environment strongly preferred
Experience using Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and Outlook at a minimum, more applications preferred)
