    BREWER
    Reports to: 1st Line: Head Brewer 2nd Line: Director of Operations
    Shift: 2 week rotating shift between daytime, afternoon, and overnight brewing shifts.

    JOB SUMMARY
    The Brewer position is responsible for all aspects of the brewing process including brewing, fermentation, cellaring, finishing and sensory evaluation. The brewer position requires a teamwork oriented, responsible, and self-motivated individual with a passion for craft beer and a desire to continue learning and growing within the industry.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
    Maintain a safe working environment and follow all safety protocols
    Wort production on 30 bbl, 4 vessel brewhouse
    Operation of Alfa Laval Brew 250 Centrifuge
    Fermenter and Brite Tank CIP
    Cellar monitoring, yeast handling and pitching
    Covering Cellarman duties during absences
    Maintain a clean, sanitary and organized work environment
    Proper documentation of all tasks performed
    Adhering to 5S principles in workspace
    Occasional brewing, cellar, CIP, barrel racking, and special project activities at Lee Hill location

    REQUIREMENTS
    Education: College degree preferred
    Experience: 2 years professional brewing experience at a 5k+ bbl / year brewery, 15+ bbl brewhouse
    Strong communication and teamwork skills
    Ability to stand on feet for 8+ hours
    Ability to lift 55 lbs on a consistent basis
    Night shift (10 pm - 6:30 am) availability
    Occasional weekend shift availability


    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    Brewers are frequently required to sit; stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds, and be able to move kegs weighing close to 165 pounds from time to time. This position typically spends 8 or more hours on their feet each shift.
