    Departed Soles Brewing Company, located in Jersey City, New Jersey, 3 blocks from the PATH train to New York City and just off the New Jersey Turnpike, is looking for a unique individual to fill an even more unique position within our two year old, World Beer Cup winning brewery.

    This role will be part Assistant Brewer, part Tasting Room Assistant Manager, with the potential to evolve in to either a full time Packaging/Operations Manager, Head Brewer or Tasting Room Manager as our brewery continues to grow. It is a great "foot in the door" for someone looking to get in to the brewing industry but does not have the formal education or complete resume to do so just yet. That being said, if you have the skill set or ambition for a part time role fulfilling some of these duties, but not the others, we encourage you to apply.

    On the brewery side of things, this Jack-of-all-trades will assist primarily in packaging runs (canning, kegging), as well as brewery maintenance (CIP, inventory management, brew day/packaging day prep). The individual will also have the opportunity to utility our pilot system at-will and serve up their own concoctions in our Tasting Room, upon Management approval. Said recipes could go on to become full time brewery offerings or one-offs. Home Brewing experience or Professsional Brewing experience/education is a plus, but not required.

    With regards to the Tasting Room, this individual will be assigned 1-2 Tasting Room shifts per week to represent our brand and our beer with guests in our Downtown Jersey City Tasting Room. They will be tasked with set up to break down and cleanup of the brewery, draft line cleaning, providing tours to guests, and serving craft beer flights and pints. The will assist in booking events (music, yoga, comedy, etc.) and bringing fresh new ideas to our Tasting Room calendar, as well as executing them and making them a reality. They will also assist in handling private and semi-private event inquiries.

    This position can evolve in one of two primary ways:
    1) Operations/Packaging Manager - Taking the reigns on packaging runs, maintaining our CASK canning line, keg inventory and fleet management, CIP, transferring, etc.
    2) Brewing Assistant, Lead Brewer - Taking the reigns on our #DefinitelyNotGlutenFree brew days from current brew master, managing grain and hop inventory, conducting all brew days, QC Management, Lab Management, creating new recipes, evolving current offerings, maintaining current offerings, etc.
    3) Tasting Room Manager - As we desire to grow our availability and public hours, this position would be in conjunction with, or as a team with, our existing Tasting Room Manager, to run our Tasting Room, manage our staff, create events, host events, etc.

    The ideal person for this job is a hustler and possesses a strong ability to multi-task. He or she must be outgoing and friendly, warm with guests and great with cold craft beer. He or she must have the ability to confidently work around brewing equipment, dangerous chemicals, and be capable of moving full half barrel kegs around (approximately 200lbs). Experience in the brewing field is a plus, though not required. Likewise, experience in the service or distribution industry is a plus, but is not required.

    Pay is commensurate with experience. Currently benefits are not offered.
