Job Summary:
This position involves all aspects of working in a brewpub from grain to glass including recipe development, wort production, fermentation, transfers, yeast management and staff education. The right candidate will be safety-minded, efficient, quality-focused, have a great work ethic, a positive attitude, be able to work independently as well as work closely with the management team (GM, Head Chef). Candidate will also work with our contract brewer to ensure adequate amounts for beer available to our other locations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Brewing, transferring and cellaring beer
• CIP tanks, cellar equipment and brewhouse
• Harvest, pitch and manage yeast
• Dry-hop and fine beers
• Mill and stage recipes accurately
• Maintain workplace safety while upholding quality standards
• Continually lift, drag, carry and manipulate hoses, parts, pumps, buckets and reservoirs
• Maintain accurate and legible records
• Sanitation of all beer contact surfaces and equipment
• Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
• Professional brewing experience a must.
• Has a passion for quality beer.
• Can work both independently and in a team environment.
• Possess a mechanical aptitude and strong troubleshooting skills
• Ability to multitask and manage time while being detail oriented
• Flexible schedule
• Reliable transportation
Physical requirements:
Must be able to bend over, twist, kneel, stand for the duration of a shift, lift 55 pounds and maneuver 160 pounds repeatedly. Requires proper handling of hazardous materials and operation of complex machinery. Good communication skills.
