Evil Genius Beer Company Seeks Innovative, Creative, Passionate, and Driven Brewer/Assistant Brewer
Evil Genius Beer Company was founded in 2011 with the mission to bring fun and humor
back into Craft Beer. Today, we are a team of over 30 people with distribution from
Massachusetts to Maryland. In 2017, we opened The Lab in the Fishtown Neighborhood
of Philadelphia, which is hands down the best Beer City in the country. In the brewery,
we have a brand new 15bbl Specific Mechanical Brewing System churning out killer
IPA’s, and some of the most innovate specialty beers in the industry.
We are looking for a Brewer/Assistant brewer to help our Lead Brewer with ALL brewing
related activities, including wort production, cellar work, canning, cleaning and
sanitation, and general maintenance. The candidate will also be able to work in our
extremely busy taproom, and will be asked to preform any general duties as needed to
support the team.
At Evil Genius, culture is paramount. People are encouraged to think creatively, come up
with new ideas, and see them through to implementation. The right person can really
make their mark here and will have a ton of opportunities for both personal and
professional growth.
General Requirements and qualifications desired:
-Minimum 2 years professional brewing experience.
-Must be a respectful, open minded team player who loves making beer and has a great sense of
humor
-Be independent and self directed, and possess a strong mechanical mindset-Have the ability to
multitask and shift focus as the needs arise.
-Have good understanding of beer making - including raw materials, fermentation, yeast care,
cleaning, sanitization, carbonation
-Ability to priority and organize tasks to enable maximum efficiency
-Must be able to stand 8-10 hours a day.
-Must be able to lift 75 lb.
-Must understand brewery safety issues
-Must be a hard worker and willing to put in long hours at times (8-10) when the schedule dictates
it.
-Must be 21 and able to pass a background check.
-Must have excellent communication skills.
