POSITION:
Assistant Brewer
STATUS:
Full Time - Experience required
SHIFT:
First/Second - Some weekends
PURPOSE: Brews beer to specific recipes observing all sanitation and safety procedures, while promoting beer through marketing and restaurant functions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
-Brew beer according to CraftWorks standards and philosophy, as need dictates.
-Operate brew equipment to maintain acceptable inventory of raw materials and beer.
-General Cellar Work - Rack Beer, Keg Beer, Gravities, Dry hops, etc..
-Clean, sanitize all equipment, tanks and work areas to maintain consistent beer quality.
-Possess basic beer knowledge and a good sense of smell, distinguishing flavors, and colors in beer.
-Fundamental knowledge of plumbing and machinery mechanics/maintenance.
-Train staff in beer knowledge.
-Participate in beer dinners and festivals, customer relations and marketing.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
50% Lift 55 lbs. from ground to shoulder high.
25% Lift 110 lbs. from ground to waist high and moving 150 lbs. along the floor.
15% Climb stairs, ramps, and ladders up to or exceeding 20 times per day.
10% Work in small and confined spaces.
10% Read, write and calculate basic algebra.
ESSENTIAL TRAINING REQUIREMENTS: Successful completion of hourly position validations, including reading training materials and watching videos. Responsible alcohol certification within 60 days of employment.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must be 21 years old to pour alcohol or as state regulations dictate
