    Post Re-designing the existing Boiler to give two different output of Steam ??

    power plant desalination was on service since February,1999 for produce 450 t/hr steam to generate (81 Mw ) and distillate water production( Two multi stage flash plant 3000 m3/hr ) and we have extra steam 150 t/hr for each boiler .
    1. BOILER: PHASE-II BOILERS NO. 6 & 7 MAKE: ANSALDO ENERGIA, ITALY TYPE: WATER TUBE RATING: 600 TONS / HOUR PRESSURE: 64 BAR. G. TEMPERATURE: 528OC TAG NO: B-6 & B-7

    2. STEAM TURBINE: PHASE-II STEAM TURBINE NO.6&7 MAKE: ANSALDO ENERGIA, S.p.A., ITALY DESIGN: ABB (Type: DG10052) TYPE: IMPULSE-REACTION, BACK PRESSURE RATING: 81.4 MW, SPEED: 3600 RPM, STEAM INLET PRESSURE: 62 Bar (A), & 525oC, EXHAUST STEAM PRESSURE: 2.4 Bar (A).
    3. DESAL : PHASE-II DESAL NO.6,7,8&9 MAKE: Snamprogetti , TYPE :MULTI STAGE FLASH ,LP STEAM PRESSURE : 3 BAR , LP STEAM TEMP. : 150 C WATER PRODUCT : 1500 M3/H

    • plant was extension by increase the water production and on service since January , 2013 to produce 68,190 m3/day distillate water by supply high pressure steam from boiler ( two water tube boiler) and reduce the steam properties as following specifications bellow:

    1. High pressure steam mass flow before reducing station : 293 t/hr
    2. High pressure steam before reducing station : 65 bar
    3. High temperature steam before reducing station : 525 C
    4. Steam pressure after reducing station : 15 bar
    5. Steam temperature after reducing station : 198 C
    6. High pressure steam mass flow before reducing station : 371 t/hr

    • Our Initiative:

    Re-designing the existing Boiler to give two different output of Steam (one at 65/525 and other at 15/211) i.e. for saving fuel by reduce the heat energy loss and dismantle the reducing station.
    Is it possible and how ?
