  • How much grain will a 100 gallon mash hold

I have a 100 gallon mash tun. Trying to get a good idea of how much it will hold before I run a test with it later this week

    Thanks in advance...

There are calculators available that will project your overall mash volume required. You can play around with it to determine the max weight of grain you can fit based on water:grain ratio.

    quick reference

brewing software like beersmith, promash, and brewers friend can also estimate the mash volume

that's a great guess. i have a 100gal mash tun and i think the most that i've done was 215 and had a tiny amount of room to spare, maybe not 250 but pretty close.

Lower your liquor to grist ratio and I bet you'd get 250 in there
