    North Pier Brewing Company Overview

    North Pier Brewing Company is proud to make craft beer in Benton Harbor, Michigan. Our taproom and outdoor beer garden is located less than one mile from Lake Michigan and on tap, we have a rotating list of hand-crafted beers with a focus on innovative Belgian and European inspired ales & lagers.

    Summary of Responsibilities
    • Create an enhanced customer experience, which includes maintaining a welcoming and fun experience for all guests while building relationships within the community
    • Ensuring foodservice is a priority among bartenders and the customer experience around food is exceptional
    • Developing the Legend’s Club membership community by driving membership sales (both member & Ambassador) and creating value-added events for members.
    • Develop bartender schedule and staffing needs utilizing HotSchedules, training, coaching, and counseling Tasting Room staff
    • Overseeing Opening / Closing Duties and ensuring Checklist is followed by Bartenders without skipping steps
    • Assist with bar and foodservice at peak times (staffing needs should satisfy this 80% of the time)
    • Meet financial objectives as they relate to overall Company goals, which include managing a Tasting Room budget, daily sales reports, monthly sales, cash flow, P&L reports and tip payments
    • Develop weekly plans based on agreed upon period goals
    • Work with owner to develop daily reporting and administrative schedule
    • Assist in developing bartender/server incentive programs
    • Manage/forecast inventory needs and participate in merchandise selection
    • Order glassware, apparel, food items, cleaning supplies
    • Create, coordinate and execute special events.
    • Oversee all aspects of private events in the Tap Room
    • Work with team to enhance taproom marketing opportunities
    • Participating in continuous education opportunities (to be discussed with owner)
    • Work with owner to define charitable strategy and set annual budgets
    • Assist in developing customer feedback program to track insights and continually improve taproom experience


    Important Skills
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Demonstrated ability to build & maintain relationships with distributors, decision makers, and internal stakeholders
    • Ability to analyze & communicate insights data
    • Ability to work autonomously and be self-motivated
    • High proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
    • High level of craft beer product knowledge
