    First Magnitude Brewing Company is a 15 BBL brewing company and tap room located in Gainesville, Florida. We are all about excellent beer, being a great place to work, and being active part of our community. We are looking for a high quality, highly motivated person to manage our cellar operation and assist with brewing. 2 years’ experience or relevant education preferred.

    If so, here’s what this job entails
    Brewery Tasks and Expectations
    1. Be able to execute all aspects of the production process on FM’s 15 barrel 3 vessel production system, including wort production, fermentation, racking, and carbonating.
    2. Be able to execute all aspects of packaging draft beer (kegging).
    3. Be able to execute all aspects of running FM’s canning line (Wild Goose 250).
    4. Be able to execute all aspects of tank cellaring, including caustic CIP, pressurized acid CIP, and SIP.
    5. Assist with recipe development and production for all FM beverages.
    6. Assist with inventory and related record keeping for all FM products.
    7. Assist with coordination of orders from distributors and retail customers.
    8. Assist with the development and maintenance of the FM production schedule.
    9. Document and archive recipes for FM pilot system.
    10. Troubleshoot brew house and canning line equipment and assist with repairs when needed.
    11. Assist with development and execution of regularly scheduled cleaning, passivation and maintenance of all brewhouse, cellar, packaging and pilot system equipment.
    12. Adhere to all safety guidelines and offer input to continuously promote and improve a safe working environment.
    13. Assist with supervision and training of part-time personnel as needed.
    14. Work closely with FM’s QA/QC team to collect routine lab samples and measurements during the production process, and to continually improve product quality and shelf life.

    Other Tasks and Expectations
    1. Actively participate in professional development related to the craft beer industry and to safety practices.
    2. Attend beer festivals and other events to promote FM as needed. Assist with set up of displays, tents, serving mechanisms and merchandise.
    3. Be available to customers to answer questions and promote FM products.
    4. Conduct brewery tours, beer tastings and education sessions with customers as needed.
    5. Other duties as required that are mutually agreed upon by you and the FMBC management team.

    Working Conditions
    1. This position will require you to routinely lift objects weighing more than 50 pounds.
    2. This position will require your ability to work in a damp, humid environment. You must be able to tolerate temperatures below 45 degrees F and above 90 degrees F on a regular basis for extended periods.
    3. This position requires that you work with hazardous chemicals and pressurized vessels. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times in the brewhouse.
    4. This position requires you to drive a powered lift truck (forklift). If you are not certified, FM will provide training and certification.

    This position is full time and salary is commensurate with experience. We offer paid vacation and holidays, and limited health benefits. The position is open immediately until filled.
