Perfect Plain Brewing Co., located in Pensacola, Florida, is seeking candidates for a full-time assistant brewer position to join its growing team. Established in November 2017, Perfect Plain Brewing Co. is cultivating unique craft beer in a historical taproom located at 50 E Garden Street in Downtown Pensacola and in currently on pace to produce ~1000BBL in the first year. Perfect Plain Brewing Co. features a 10 barrel 2 vessel brew house, a 1 bbl pilot brewing system, and produces a wide variety of both clean, barrel-aged, and brett/sour styles for consumption in its taproom and direct-to-consumer bottle sales. As we continue to rapidly grow in our first year in business, we are seeking qualified candidates to help in all aspects of our production process not limited to vessel CIP, keg washing, brewhouse and equipment maintenance, and packaging. JOB DESCRIPTION

The Assistant Brewer is responsible for all aspects of processes related to fermentation, conditioning, treatment, clarification, carbonation, and any processes required to achieve final product ready to serve and package. Qualified candidates must be hard working, responsible, and motivated. The individual will have a passion for craft beer and a desire to continue learning and growing here at Perfect Plain and within the craft beer industry. Applicants should be in fairly good physical condition, have good organizational skills, be dedicated to keeping a clean brewery, committed to following standard operating procedures, and working in a tight knit working environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • CIP of production vessels
  • Keg washing
  • Cold room organization and management of draft beer system
  • Assist in logging of all brewing related notes from brew day through fermentation, finishing and packaging
  • Maintaining sanitary practices in all aspects of the production process
  • Assist with quality assurance activities and monitor progress of beers through measurements and data recording
  • Conducting accurate inventories on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
  • Working safely with dangerous chemicals on a daily basis
  • Moving packaged/kegged product to the cold room and stacking full kegs
  • Assisting the Head Brewer with any other projects and essential work


REQUIREMENTS
  • Prior experience in a brewery or a brew pub is highly preferred
  • A strong passion for brewing, processes, and a desire to advance and grow within the craft beer industry
  • Some understanding of brewing aspects and the all the duties described above
  • Self-motivation, strong work ethic, and good critical thinking skills
  • Must be willing to work some nights, weekends if needed
  • Team Player
