Marketing with signs along major highway.

    Hello all,

We are starting an Orchard/Cidery/Meadery on 12 acres with a 4,000 square foot building. We are along a divided highway with 20,000 cars per day. What is the best way to advertise our business? Sign with the website information? Our county has pretty strict sign restrictions in agricultural zoning so we can't put a story on our sign. Our tasting room will be open 3 days a week to start, so we need someway to tell customers our "hours". I want to attract drive by's, but maybe this just doesn't happen that often.

    Thanks for any input!

Our sign, with arrow and hours, needed to be on an Oregon state highway. No way that was happening. But the city owns the property adjacent to the highway, and they had no problem with our erecting a sign just off the state right-of-way. Still perfectly visible and legal.

You might look into local laws and see if this is an option. Of course, you'll need a cooperative land-owner, but beer can grease a lot of wheels.

We own our property so that shouldn't be a problem.
