The Director of Retail Sales is responsible for achieving sales and profit targets for all revenue centers. This individual will oversee the Retail and Event teams, and partner with the rest of the business departments for strategic planning and operational efficiency. This role will include recruiting, training, and motivating a large group of hospitality-driven team members to achieve goals with an emphasis on customer service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Business Intelligence
Refine and execute the sales strategy by partnering with the Marketing, Production, and Operations departments and managing the Retail and Programming teams in a result-orientated, timely, and fiscally responsible manner.
Continuously, proactively analyze performance, and develop and recommend action plans in support of revenue optimization.
Insure operational policies and procedures are developed, effectively implemented, and maintained to achieve organizational consistency and efficiency throughout the Retail channels.
Ensure correct execution of marketing, operations, and event management guidelines.
Partner with Operations for timely, consistent and effective outbound and inbound communication within multiple locations.
Demonstrate strategic business acumen with a keen focus on achieving and monitoring all field KPIs and other key business drivers that directly impact the customer experience; and understand their specific nuances to make recommendations to achieve results.
Staff Management and Development
Retain, develop, and recruit Retail and Event teams reflecting the premium brand image, business understanding, and commitment to achieving desired results.
Consistent execution and proactive evaluation of meaningful and sustainable training programs utilizing appropriate teaching methods and learning techniques; this includes but is not limited to: General Managers, Assistant and Program Managers and Leadership Development. Additionally, provide train-the-trainer support to General Managers and Program Managers, as appropriate.
Lead by example; inspire, motivate, mentor, and educate the Retail and Event teams while collectively building a hospitality and retail service culture.
Liaise with peers in Operations, Production, Development, Facilities, and Marketing to deliver cohesive branding and an extraordinary guest experience.
Partner with Human Resources to address employee relations issues; identify appropriate training and/or coaching opportunities and follow up to ensure effective, legally compliant, and consistent resolutions are reached.
Fiscal Responsibility
Consistently achieve sales goals while operating within budgetary constraints to contribute to overall profitability; ensure direct reports maintain fiscal discipline and operate within budgetary guidelines, especially labor costs, without sacrificing the customer experience.
Direct and maintain a viable loss prevention program to include a comprehensive LP awareness campaign for Retail; track and report all activities to Executive Management.
Partner with Finance, Operations, and Human Resources to monitor and/or to insure retail shortage and loss/asset prevention issues are investigated and resolved in a timely manner.
Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
Requirements for the role:
10+ years' experience in multi-store, Retail management/supervisory experience
Process and results driven leader with the ability to manage and deliver goals
Ability to monitor performance and adjust accordingly
Impeccable leadership and communication skills: verbal, written
Analytical/critical thinking with strong organizational skills
Extremely detail-oriented work ethic
Affinity for working in a team-environment and ability to identify common goals
A self-motivated approach, requiring limited oversight
PC skills, specifically Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint)
Craft beverage industry and/or restaurant & hospitality industry experience a plus
