    Orange County Brewers Guild - Executive Director

    The Orange County Brewers Guild is looking for an exceptionally talented individual to run the day to day business of the Guild. The OCBG was founded in early 2015 by Orange County's craft brewers and now consists of 37 Brewery Members. The Executive Director coordinates all OCBG activities at the direction of the OCBG Officers and Directors. The right candidate has a great attitude, is self-motivated, has a diverse set of skills, loves craft beer, and wants to make an impact in the local craft beer industry.
    Duties include but are not limited to the following:
    Administrative Duties:
    ● Primary point of contact for the OCBG (mail, email, phone)
    ● Organize Board Meetings every other month
    ● Organize Member Meetings every other month
    ● Organize Committee meetings as necessary
    ● Purchase supplies needed for the OCBG operations
    ● Managing the OCBG finances
    ● Handling fulfillment and renewal of memberships (Basecamp access, mailing items included in memberships, etc.)
    ● Submit summary of tasks performed to Directors and Officers weekly
    ● Set and maintain annual OCBG calendar
    ● Coordinate end of year financials and all governmental filings
    ● Coordinate and administer board elections
    Recruitment Duties:
    ● Monitor breweries-in-planning, and reach out to startups to join the OCBG
    ● Cultivate contacts within the industry (suppliers of brewing equipment and ingredients, bars / restaurants / retailers, professional service providers, etc.) and encourage Affiliate Membership
    ● Represent the OCBG and sell Enthusiast Memberships at beneficial events
    ● Encourage Member Breweries to help promote Enthusiast Membership
    Marketing Duties:
    ● With the help of the Events/Communications Committee, develop an Annual Plan to help determine event/marketing priorities and timing
    ● Coordinate all OCBG sponsored events (OC Beer Week, OC Brewers Invitational Festival, etc.)-- Promote Enthusiast Membership
    ● Create and distribute press releases
    ● Coordinate events at craft beer centric accounts featuring OCBG members
    ● Maintain and update the OCBG website and social media channels with member content, blog posts, and events
    Government Affairs Duties:
    ● Coordinate Member Breweries to write communications in opposition or support of impactful legislation at the local, state and federal level
    ● Assist with Government Affairs initiatives
    Essential Skills:
    ● Strong knowledge of the craft brewing industry
    ● Demonstrate understanding of California liquor laws and regulations affecting the brewing industry
    ● Clear understanding of anti-trust violations and how to avoid them
    ● Demonstrate knowledge of rules and regulations working for a non-profit
    ● Strong organizational skills and the ability to work alone
    ● Timely completion of administrative tasks such as daily email responses, weekly recap emails to executive board, monthly expense reports
    ● Strong communication skills; maintains constant communication with President and Executive committee
    ● Basic computer competence in word, excel and e-mail
    Relevant Experience:
    ● Public relations
    ● Event planning
    ● Project management
    ● Beer industry
    ● Writing, web site maintenance/management, social media
    Other Requirements:
    ● Travel may be required to trade shows and beer related event.
    ● Must be available to work occasional Saturday and Sundays as required.
    ● Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States
    ● Work four scheduled office days at a board members location
    ● The Executive Director reports directly to the President
