Assistant Brewer/Assistant Production/Cellarperson in Charlotte, NC for Hire
Hello Fellow Beer Enthusiasts and Employers,
“We all have a plan for life, and then we fall in love with beer.” This statement by Garrett Oliver, of Brooklyn Brewery, has festered with me for quite some time. It is not easy to veer from your career path to follow your passion but when your passion is beer, it makes things a little easier.
While my previous work experience does not directly relate to beer, I believe that the attributes I possess and skills I have obtained align perfectly for a position in the industry. Given the opportunity, I will be able to demonstrate my skills effectively.
My skills and interest align mostly in the production of beer; however, I also have experiences that qualify me to work in marketing, and in sales. I am willing to start in any position which I can be utilized most effectively.
My previous job as a pest control manager and technician has directly provided skills in safety and cleanliness; having to handle, store, transport, and apply pesticides in a proper manner. Working outside in the heat of Florida, often having to be on my hands and knees or crawling through sweltering attics, speaks for the physical labor I am equipped for. Other experience working as a film technician for Florida State University athletics has required me to demonstrate intense concentration, while standing and operating a camera for hours at a time, in all types of weather.
While working as a pest control tech, I dealt with handling over 500 customer accounts and was also responsible for bringing in new accounts. The sales portion of my job included, face-to-face, along with over the phone. I also created marketing strategies for the company and collaborated with an outside firm to integrate these strategies.
What sets me apart from others is the pride, passion and all-out effort I put into any given task. I have excelled in areas of work that I wouldn’t consider myself to be passionate about, so I can only imagine the things I could do in an industry that I love. I received my degree from Florida State University in Marketing and Management and am finishing a Master’s in Entomology, but would consider myself a specialist in personal relations, physical efficiency, and work ethic.
