    Job Title: Production Assistant II - Brewer or Cellar Technician

    Reports to: Head Brewer

    Classification and Pay: $18.00 per hour

    Employment Type and Schedule: Full-Time, Monday - Friday, 8.5-hour shift (daytime)

    Summary: Joyride is seeking a Production Assistant II - Brewer or Cellar Technician who will work with the team to drive quality coffee and craft beverage production. As a Production Assistant II - Brewer, he/she will grind, brew, and extract coffee/tea in accordance with the daily production schedule. **As a Production Assistant II - Cellar Technician, he/she will package and label product, in accordance with the daily production schedule. In carrying out all of these functions the Production Assistant II maintains a clean and compliant workplace, adhering to Joyride’s standards and processes to ensure quality and safe beverage production.

    Ideal Candidate: The ideal Production Assistant II candidate has experience in and an enthusiasm for craft food or beverage production. *He/she takes deep pride in his/her work in creating a quality product. The ideal candidate serves as role model to the other Production Assistants, always punctual and detail-oriented. He/she enjoys working with their hands and is comfortable lifting 65 pounds repeatedly throughout the day. *He/she understands and prioritizes workplace and food safety and is able to keep meticulous records and maintain high levels of compliance with all policies and procedures. He/she also is flexible and able to adjust to seasonal changes in demand and looks for opportunities to make tweaks to the production process aligned with Joyride’s continuous improvement mentality.


    What You’ll Do:
    • Brewer: Prepare brewing vessels and equipment for daily cold brew coffee production
    • Cellar Technician: Prepare packaging components and equipment for daily cold brew production and package, label and store finished product
    • Maintain the facility by performing scheduled cleaning and maintenance
    • Organize raw material and finished product to facilitate usage and distribution of the freshest coffee available
    • Grind, brew, and extract coffee/tea
    • Clean and sanitize coffee production, packaging, and serving equipment
    • Follow and execute all workplace and food safety policies and procedures.
    • Maintain accurate and detailed records of safety, inventory, and other records in accordance with policy and procedure
    • Safe handling of hazardous chemicals used in both the cleaning and sanitation process of production equipment
    • Conduct all work in a manner that promotes safety and productivity and champion the importance of each
    • Perform other duties as needed and assigned by his/her manager
    • Escalate any and all food safety concerns to management

    What’s Required:
    To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
    • 1-2+ years of food or beverage processing or production experience; brewing experience strongly preferred
    • Food Safety Handler’s License or Certificate or attainment within first 90 days in role
    • Forklift certification or attainment within first 90 days in role
    • Enthusiasm and knowledge for third-wave coffee and craft food and beverage and passion to learn and grow in the industry and at Joyride
    • Experience with ERP systems is a plus
    • Computer skills including Google Suite, ERP, and Inventory Management Systems.

    • Must be able to sit, stand or walk for extended periods of time
    • Ability to regularly lift, push, or pull up to 65 pounds
    • Reading, counting and basic math ability
    • Neat, legible handwriting and ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
    • Must be a team player above all else who is willing to assist in other areas when needed
    • Prioritizes workplace safety, food safety and sanitation and thorough and accurate work habits, with focus on improving quality
    • Dependable and punctual, always ensuring work responsibilities are covered when absent, accountable for their own actions, and committed to extended work hours when necessary to reach team goals
    • Ability to multi-task, solution-focused and adapt to changes in the work environment by managing competing demands
    • Other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager
