    Bayern Brewing Inc., the only German brewery in the Rockies, is seeking for immediate hire a professional, technically gifted, quality focused, safety driven, and team oriented brewer to become a member of the brewing team in a rapidly growing, fast paced, production brewery in the university town of Missoula, MT. Nestled in the Rocky Mountains of western Montana, the vibrant community offers plenty of recreational opportunities, a quality public school system and provides a variety of medical services.

    The ideal candidate will possess:

    Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a commercial production brewery with a volume of 8,000+ BBLs annually.

    Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in a related technical field or a High School Diploma with five (5) years manufacturing experience.

    Qualifications:
    • Must have a solid understanding of all aspects of brewing, cellar work, yeast handling, CIP and sanitizing.
    • Must have understanding of GMPs in the brewing industry, OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
    • Forklift certification is a plus.
    • Should have prior brewing, filtration, tank cleaning experience.
    • Should have experience in maintenance tasks and recording and monitoring raw materials.
    • Must have a strong mechanical and electrical background with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical problems.
    • Must have the ability to execute and maintain a brewery preventative maintenance (PM) program.
    • Must have a solid knowledge of the metric system, chemistry and math.
    • Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills.
    • Must be computer literate in spreadsheets and Microsoft Office.
    • Must be able to lift at least 60 pounds, move at least 165 pounds and have the physical condition to climb stairs a couple times a shift.
    • Must be able to work variable shifts, including early morning, late night and night shift, weekends.
    • Should have “hands on” skills and the ability to work within.
    • Should have the desire to learn and teach others.
    • Should have a “Type A” personality with a strong work ethic, the ability to multitask and attention to detail.

    Essential Responsibilities:

    • Operate the 3-vessel semi-automatic brewhouse, cellar work, and sanitation systems according to Good Manufacturing Practices.
    • Maintain sanitary standards for the microbial integrity of the products.
    • Maintain the operational and aesthetic condition of the facility.
    • Record and verify all required data, within the brewery from brewhouse to the finished product.
    • Submit daily logs for operations control.
    • Assist in the maintenance of raw material and product inventories.
    • Collect required samples for laboratory analysis and process those.
    • Follow and understand SOP’s.
    • Operating forklift.
    • Operate and maintain the keg cleaner.
    • Racking.
    • Tank cleaning.
    • Beer filtration.

    This is a full time position with competitive compensation to match experience and education level. Benefits package includes Simple IRA with employer match, Health Insurance and Paid Vacation.
