    ASSISTANT BREWER

    Position: Urban Growler Brewing Company is looking for an Assistant Brewer to join our team.

    Location: St. Paul, MN.

    Who We Are: Located in St. Paul, Urban Growler is the first women owned microbrewery in Minnesota. Our beer is handcrafted in 10-barrel batches in our 4 vessel steam brewhouse. We make traditional beers like CowBell Cream Ale® as well as non-traditional offerings with a local twist through our Plow to Pint® Series. We sell beer in our taproom and distribute in kegs and cans; we recently expanded our capacity to 4000 bbls. We aim to make craft beer more approachable to everyone.

    Who we’re looking For: We are looking for an assistant brewer with a passion for craft beer and the brewing process, and who is eager to start out in the craft beer industry. The Assistant Brewer will work closely with the Brewers and Head Brewer. Primarily, the Assistant Brewer will work in support of the Brewers, primarily in packaging and cellaring. However, aspects of all areas of production, including brewing, cellaring, packaging, and quality assurance will fall under your responsibilities. Fit is important to us, so you also must have a positive attitude and work well with a team. We are a small brewery with a proven track record on the way up.     What you should have:
    Must be 21 years of age
    Formal Brewing education highly preferred
    Must safely work in all areas of the brewery from wort production and cellar work to packaging
    Engaging personality with great communication, time management and teamwork skills
    Ability to thrive while multitasking in a fast-paced work environment
    Problem solving skills and ability to troubleshoot beer related issues
    Personal attributes – honest and hardworking with a passion for beer and quality.
    Desire and ability to take ownership of your responsibilities and embrace continuous improvement
    Obsession with cleaning and sanitization
    Ability to work any brewing shift (no overnight required)
    Valid driver’s license and an excellent driving record

    Working Conditions:
    Capable of standing for long periods of time
    Able to lift up to 75 lbs.
    Capable of safe and competent work on and around potentially hazardous machinery, equipment, chemicals and systems
    Able to work in a high noise environment

    Duration and Benefits: Part time, probably at least 30 hours per week. Health Insurance, Paid Time Off and last but not least, free beer.
