    Head Brewer is a regular, full-time position. Responsible for overall brewing process, including quality control; scheduling; management of raw materials inventory; development of standard operational procedures, regulatory compliance, consistency of product; development of new product. Proactively manage and improve productivity of brewing operation; supervision of cellar, brewing and lab personnel. Work is done in a brewery manufacturing environment which can have variable temperatures, chemicals, dirt, dust, machinery and other obstacles, and administrative functions are performed in an office environment. Flexible working hours may include weekdays, weekends and nights.

    Examples of Duties:
    Oversight of all phases of brewing.
    Maintenance of brewing equipment.
    Development of standard operating procedures.
    Oversight of lab, including quality assurance and quality control.
    Ensure that brewery is in compliance with various regulatory agencies.
    Process paperwork related to brewing process.
    Maintain adequate raw materials inventory, including pricing, purchasing, handling.
    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    Knowledge of safe work practices.
    Knowledge of production brewery with working knowledge of all aspects of brewery operations.
    Knowledge of inventory management for a manufacturing company.
    Strong math skills.
    Solid computer skills.
    Good communications skills, both oral and written.
    Ability to work well with others.
    Ability to understand and carry-out job responsibilities.
    Ability to resolve inventory discrepancies.
    Ability to develop and maintain records.
    Ability to prepare reports.
Ability to read and follow directions. 
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
    Ability to work flexible hours including, days, nights, weekends, as needed. .
Forklift certification is preferred.

    Education and Experience:
    Advanced degree or professional certification in brewing, or closely related field.
    Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience as brewer.
    Demonstrate successful experience in the supervision of others, including hiring, retaining, performance evaluations, and discipline.
