    Packaging / Delivery / Brewery Assistant
    • -Full time, 40 hours per week. 80 hours paid time off annually (hours accrued weekly and can be used after 60 day probationary period (max 80 hours annual), 5 days sick leave (max 40 hours annual), 6 paid holidays annually (New Years Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day)

    ABOUT THE COMPANY:
    KCBC is a 15-bbl craft brewery and taproom located in Bushwick, Brooklyn. The company is owned and operated by a trio of brewers who have joined forces to create a wide variety of well-balanced, high-quality beers—including crushable lagers, hoppy IPAs, traditional Old World ales, exotic sours and more.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Delivery of KCBC beer & keg retrieval
    • - Prepare, scan & load kegs and cases into delivery van
    • - Prepare invoices and any additional materials needed for delivery days (e.g., pick list, tap handles, route map, etc.)
    • - Plan delivery route so as to maximize efficiency
    • - Communicate with KCBC sales rep, owners, and accounts as needed
    • - Safely lift and transport kegs to and from the Hopmobile
    • - Share all driving and delivery duties with other delivery person (split 50/50)
    • - Adhere to NYC traffic and parking laws
    • - Provide outstanding customer service and educate customers on the beers being delivered, as well as upcoming beers
    • - Retrieve empty kegs promptly (always check for empties and keep up-to-date list of “Kegs-At-Customers” handy in the Hopmobile on delivery days)
    • - Properly receive and record all invoices and COD payments from customers
    • - Track all outgoing and incoming kegs via Keg ID program in Ekos Brewmaster
    • - Assist with payment collection, draft troubleshooting, and other issues related to wholesale distribution, as needed

    Packaging of Beer
    • - Preparing canning supplies (pak techs, case trays, etc.)
    • - Preparing work area, as needed (moving pallets, organizing supplies, etc.)
    • - Properly staging pack out area (tables, scale, pallets, etc.)
    • - Loading empty cans onto canning like
    • - Weighing and placing full cans into case trays
    • - Applying pak techs to four packs
    • - Stacking cases of beer onto pallets
    • - Kegging of beer
    • - Cleaning and maintenance of keg filler
    • - Bottling of beer
    • - Cleaning and maintenance of bottle filler
    • - Keg cleaning
    • - Cleaning and maintenance of keg washer
    • - Working efficiently and safely to ensure beer is packaged and stored properly
    • - Ordering of packaging supplies
    • - Maintaining accurate and legible records
    • - Clean-up!!!

    General brewery + taproom cleaning, organization and maintenance, including:
    • - Taking out trash & recycling
    • - walk-in cooler
    • - shelving & storage areas (including side alley)
    • - jockey box and other event supplies
    • - KCBC Hopmobile
    • - Back bar area and taproom, as needed
    • - Production area
    • - Maintaining an orderly and safe work environment overall

    Other miscellaneous duties, as needed

    REQUIREMENTS:
    • - 2+ years experience in a similar role in a packaging brewery is required.
    • - Strong knowledge of the brewing and packaging process
    • -Ability to strictly follow operations requirements, recipes and standard operating procedures
    • - Must be able to work in a non-temperature controlled environment, properly handle hazardous materials, and operate complex machinery.
    • - Must possess high quality standards and be able to work effectively and efficiently without direct supervision
    • - Must be HIGHLY focused on cleanliness and proper sanitation
    • - Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. The job may also require occasional travel to and participation in trade shows, training, and beer related events
    • - Must be meticulously organized and punctual, with outstanding time management skills
    • - This is a labor-intensive, highly-physical position. Must be able to bend over, twist, kneel, climb stairs and ladders, stand for the duration of a shift, shovel hot grain, lift 55+ pounds repeatedly, operate a forklift, safely handle hot and cold liquids, safely handle cleaning/sanitizing chemicals, and safely handle oak barrels.
    • - Must have basic computer skills and aptitude, specifically working with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Apps. Experience with Ekos Brewery Management software is a plus.
    • - Must pass pre-employment background check
    • - Must be 21 years of age or older and have proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.
    • - Must be awesomely passionate about craft beer!
