15bbl 2-vessel brewhouse built by Newlands Systems
Position Title:
Head Brewer
Responsibilities Include:
Managing a brew staff of five brewers/cellarmen between two facilities
Forecasting and maintaining a dynamic brew schedule; keep core beers in stock and hit specific release dates for speciality beers
Inventory control of all raw ingredients and materials
Communicating directly with owners and other department heads (sales, distribution, operations)
The ideal candidate will:
Be creative and have a very strong work ethic with flexibility to work within a growing company
Have a professional degree from an accredited brewing program
Have a minimum of five years professional brewing experience, with a period as head-brewer included
Have the ability to brew both traditional and non-traditional styles of beer
Have culinary experience, as a plus
Have strong communication, planning, and organizational skills with good team dynamics
Have a solid understanding of all aspects of managing, brewing, cellaring, yeast handling, CIP and sanitizing
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary brewhouse, cellar, and laboratory
Continuously work to improve the quality of the brewery’s processes, efficiencies, and data collection/documentation
Be able to repeatedly lift up to 55 lbs safely and occasionally maneuver kegs of up to 165 lbs
Occasionally participate in the brewery’s promotional efforts, including, but not limited to, brewery tours, festivals, and beer dinners
Salary & Benefits:
