DryHop Brewers, located in the Lake View section of Chicago just South of Wrigley Field, is seeking a full-time Head Brewer.. The brewery has a 10bbl Specific Mechanical brewhouse with (6) 10bbl fermenters and (6) 10bbl Serving Tanks. We also just began canning on a monthly basis with a Cask two head filler and seamer. We specialize in the hoppier side of the spectrum, but also love a good lager. We are seeking a brewer who is not only technically sound. but also incredibly enthusiastic to produce hop forward brews. Thanks to a lot of hard work we have positioned ourselves as one of the top IPA producers in the Chicagoland area, and we plan on staying near the top!
The company currently operates two brewpubs in the city, and is looking to expand within the next year with more liquid gold for Chicago. Brewery Operations
Wort Production
Malt Handling (unload and stack all grain and hop deliveries)
Evaluate and monitor beer and raw materials
Oversee Cellar Operations
Work with Director of Brewing Operations and individually on recipe formulation
Cleaning and Sanitizing Procedures
Yeast Handling
Fundamental knowledge of plumbing and machinery mechanics/maintenance
Maintain constant communication with Director of Brewing Operations on any issues and their development
Prioritize, clarify and follow through with department goals and objectives with brewing staff so they understand, unite and achieve
Participate in DryHop/Corridor events and represent the brewery with passion
Set-up, participate in collaborations with other brewers/restaurants
Participate in beer festivals, customer relations and marketing/promotions/charitable events.
Work with other team members to successfully complete specific projects and support overall organizational goals
Attend bi-weekly Management meeting(s)
Work with Owner, FOH Manager, Marketing Director & Director of Brewing Operations on all event planning.
Fully trained on operation and calibration of Crowler machine.
Packaging, specifically oversee and work canning line on packaging days.
