Monkey 9 Brewing Co is Richmond's newest brewery. Located in the Entertainment District, Monkey 9 Brewpub is a 145 seat restaurant with an outdoor patio, large flat screen TVs and a wood stone oven for authentic pizzas.
This position assists the Brewmaster with brewing, packaging, cleaning and maintenance duties at the brewery and otherwise provides support to the brewhouse and cellar as directed. Duties will include, but will not be limited to, assisting with brewing and packaging beer, running tests on products in progress, following cleaning and maintenance schedule and procedures, cleaning all equipment and packaging, following our inventory management practices, and working with other members of the team to ensure all beer that leaves and is poured in the brew pub is of the highest quality and that the brewery is kept clean and functional.
Duties / Responsibilities
Cleaning and maintaining cold room and brite tanks
Monitoring gas lines
Working closely with bar staff and make sure beer is pouring properly
Transfering of beers
Filling kegs for wholesale and in-house sales.
Maintaining fermentation logs
Wash and sanitize kegs
Filling cans via crowler machine for wholesale and in-house sales
Upkeep of cellar cleanliness
Assist Brewmaster with brew day operations
Qualifications / Experience
Knowledge and interest in craft beer and breweries including brewing processes, equipment, cellaring, sanitation, and packaging
Knowledge of beer styles and sensory
Strong work ethic and flexibility as brewery expands
Ability to work as a team member as well as independently
Ability to lift 55+ lbs repeatedly
Ability to climb up and down a ladder repeatedly
Organizational skills and proper time management
Maintain positive attitude
Be able to be on feet for 8+ hours a day
Experience in serving and beer serving industry an asset
Job type
Part time (24 hours a week) with the opportunity for full time as the brewery grows and moves forward.
