Position Overview
Harpoon is seeking a highly motivated professional to join our maintenance team. This position is for a Building & Facilities technician who is interested in continuing to grow their career and learn more about industrial maintenance. The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of Steam systems, HVAC-R, water and utility pumps and motors, drywall install and repair, painting and staining, Wastwater management, and Compressors.

This position can be very physical in nature. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job you will be working over, under, and around potentially dangerous moving machinery in tight and cramped spaces. You will need to be able to work in awkward positions for extended periods of time and/or standing for long periods of time. This position also requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds at shoulder length and up to 100 pounds in general. You must be comfortable working at heights while standing on a ladder or in a basket. This work environment involves indoor and outdoor activities in various temperatures and weather conditions. Employees are exposed to high levels of noise requiring the use of hearing protection.

Requirements/Qualifications
- 2+ years of building maintenance experience
- Fork lift certification
- Production maintenance experience a plus
- Ability to obtain Mass Boiler license within the first 6 months
- Have a valid driver’s license
- Refrigerant Recovery Certification a plus
- Ability to log daily work activities in a computer management system
- Ability to read a user and parts manual, troubleshoot appliances, and order and replace the needed parts
Responsibilities
Building Maintenance:
- Performing routine building upkeep and repairs as well as scheduled PM's of the building's mechanical systems
- Maintaining all retail, bar, and office spaces
- Repairs to damage woodwork to include filling, staining, and varnishing
- Building and hanging shelves
- Replacement of gates, windows, doors, and trim
- Repairs to doors and lock hardware and re-keying of locks
- Plumbing to include repairs and replacement of faucets, sinks, toilets, and clearing of clogs and grease traps, leaks, etc.
- Working with electrician to add or move circuits or lighting
- Moving of heavy furniture and office equipment
- Erection of office equipment- building shelving units, cubicles, etc.
- Wall construction and drywall repair
- Painting of interior and exterior walls
- Landscaping and snow removal
Equipment Maintenance:
- Morning facility checks
- Overseeing the wastewater pH adjustment system to include filling bulk chemicals, cleaning and testing probes, recording data, and repairs
- Operation and maintenance of our steam system to include boiler, make-up water skid, treatment system, pumps, steam valves, condensation valves and traps throughout the brewery
- Daily inspection and operation of our combined heat and power systems
- Maintaining interior and exterior lighting
- Maintaining CO2 and air systems
- Maintenance and repair of all kitchen appliances
- Assisting maintenance department staff as needed
- Parts pickup and deliveries
- Helping with rebuilds and troubleshooting equipment
- Special projects as requested- mechanical repairs, electrical/construction work
- Keeping an orderly and safe work environment within department as well as entire facility
- Proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Keeping work place clean- storing tools properly, cleaning up debris, tidying work spaces
- Updating and maintaining MSDS/SDS program with chemical use list
