Hi-Wire Brewing is looking for an experienced packaging/maintenance technician. We are an award-winning brewery located in Asheville, NC that specializes in approachable and balanced lagers and ales. This is a full-time position that requires both operating a canning line, bottling line, and keg washer, as well as maintaining the various pieces of equipment we use to package our beer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include:
•Learn, understand and execute packaging operations according to Hi-Wire’s SOPs.
•Work closely with Packaging Manager, Operations Manager, and Head Brewer.
•Operate machinery following all safety guidelines in an efficient manner.
•Observe machine operations to ensure quality and conformity of filled or packaged products to brewery standards.
•Keep the packaging areas and workspaces clean and organized.
•Help out as needed in all other parts of the brewery.
•Perform all maintenance on machinery to ensure it is functioning safely, properly, and efficiently.
•Maintain packaging tools and materials by storing safely, neatly and in an organized fashion.
Competencies:
•High level of attention to detail.
•Positive, “can-do” attitude
•Excellent time management skills.
•Ability to work well with others.
•Previous experience maintaining packaging equipment and related machinery is essential
•A flexible schedule with the ability to work nights and weekends.
•Strong overall understanding of safety procedures, regulations and requirements, including forklift operation
Physical Requirements:
•Must be able to continually lift 65 pounds
•Must have the ability to regularly stand, walk, use hands, reach, climb, work from heights, stoop, kneel and crouch.
•The ability to work near moving parts and machinery.
•The ability to work in loud, wet, cold, hot, indoor and outdoor environments frequently.
