Martin City Brewing Company in south Kansas City, Missouri is looking for an assistant brewer to join our team. We will be celebrating our three year anniversary this February. We produced 5000 barrels of beer in 2017 on our 15 bbl system and will be making more than 7500 barrels in 2018. Minimum requirements:
Two years of brewery production experience
Ability to work any shift (late and night shifts are required)
Ability to lift up to 55 pounds
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Ability to work independently as well and coordinate with team members
Ability to work in cold environments as well as the wonderful hot and humid Missouri summers
Ability to follow SOPs and other documentation to produce a consistent, high quality product
Ability to document everything that is required to be documented in multiple locations
Ability to clean, clean, and clean. Probably do some cleaning.
Desired skills:
Experience from grain to glass
Brewhouse experience with ability to follow recipes
Cellar experience including dry hopping, yeast harvest, plate and frame filtration, carbonation, and tank cleaning
Experience with a Wild Goose 250 canning line
Experience with keg cleaning, keg sanitizing, and keg filling
Wood barrel experience
Forklift experience
Understanding of brewery cGMP protocols
