Position: Maintenance & Canning Line Manager

Job Summary:
The Maintenance and Canning Line Manager (“The Manager”) will be responsible for the installation, scheduled maintenance, and repair of all production and tap room equipment used in in the brewery and will be the primary person responsible for the upkeep and operation of the canning line. The Manager provides leadership and helps to develop and guide strategy for the maintenance effort in support of the company’s strategic and production plans. This position embraces continuous improvement methodologies to increase utilization, uptime and production, and is responsible for seeking methods to reduce utilities consumption, reduce waste, and foster a safe work environment. The Manager will be an experienced general plant handy-person and should be familiar with running canning line operations, operating a boiler, HVAC, and general facilities maintenance.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
• Create an organized plan outlining scheduled preventative maintenance and upgrades to the brewery equipment that will maximize productivity, avoid and minimize interruption and downtime and maximize the life of current assets.
• Provide the production areas prompt, efficient and quality service from the maintenance function. Provide quality maintenance service in support of operational needs.
• Create and adhere to a work order/maintenance scheduling process that ensures access and limited interruption to brewing schedules.
• Point person in charge of operating and maintaining the canning line.
• Develop system to capture and utilize data to analyze equipment failure modes, mean time between failure (MBF), etc. and provide reports showing such data.
• Suggest/implement improvement processes to reduce or eliminate equipment/process failures (I.E.: Preventative Maintenance inspection improvements, predictive maintenance techniques, maintenance employee training, etc.).
• Maintain the boiler.
• Work with brewers to provide equipment recommendations
• Communicate with vendors on equipment needs.
• Perform general maintenance tasks as needed in brewery/taproom/office
• Create an on-site storeroom to provide maintenance and repair parts for critical process equipment.
• Create a culture and work habits that promote preventative and proactive maintenance among the production team.
• Provide operations management timely and thorough information on all irregular or critical situations.
• Other duties and tasks that may be necessary.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Technical/Professional Knowledge:
• Accepts responsibility for multiple complex projects with challenging deadlines, assists in establishing project schedules and setting priorities. Able to effectively handle pressure situations.
• Uses established processes, equipment and/or programs to complete job tasks, recommends process improvements/solutions, and audits, controls, maintains or modifies processes and procedures in one’s discipline.
• Demonstrates effective written and verbal communications including persuasive and effective writing skills.
• Helps to ensure company compliance with federal and state laws and statutes, as well as company policies and plan administration.
• Level of professional expertise elicits respect and confidence from work group.

• High School Diploma
• Post-secondary education in engineering/equipment maintenance is an asset
• 5-10 years in maintenance roles
