Farmers Brewing Co., LLC will begin construction of a 40BBL brewery in September, 2018 and is currently hiring a first class team to support brewery operations. We are looking for an experienced individual to start on the ground floor to help assemble and manage a team of hard-working, dedicated individuals.
About FBCO:
Located in a small rural farming community (1 hour north of Sacramento, 35 minutes from Chico, CA), FBCO is constructing a new 25,000 square foot brewery as an extension of a 5th generation farm that currently produces almonds, rice, walnuts, and wheat. The brewery will be constructed on a piece of property located on the farm. FBCO is a production based brewery, making light, easy drinking beers that utilize crops grown by the brewery. The used brewhouse is currently being retrofitted with new controls, hopback, and a mash filter, including over 1100BBL's of fermentation capacity.

Job Description:(primary duties, not limited to)
Brewing:
- Evaluation, selection, and sourcing of raw materials, some of which are grown by the brewery.
- Perform and/or organize scientific tests on raw materials
- Be able to evaluate and adjust for variations in raw materials to produce consistent batches of beer
- Inventory management of raw materials, supplies, and other ingredients
- Refine existing recipes and help create new/seasonal recipes
- Yeast management
- Fermentation monitoring
Brewhouse Operations:
- Oversee brewing process, ensure production is running efficiently and beer is meeting specific targets
- Writing and refining SOP's
- Ensuring that SOP's are followed
- Work with facility manager to create a master equipment parts list and establish parts inventory
- Troubleshooting equipment
- Informs Facility Maintenance Manager of all hazardous conditions, repairs, preventive maintenance, and upkeep issues on all warehouse equipment through continuous daily inspections
- Maintaining a clean facility
- Defining CIP recipes and schedules for various pieces of equipment
- Adhering to FDA/Health Dept. guidelines (FSMA)
Management:
- Recruiting quality employees
- Scheduling employee shifts
- Establish training program for new and existing employees
- Implementing HAACP program
- Following OSHA guidelines and ensuring a safe working environment
- Employee discipline
- Other duties as assigned
Quality Control:
- Create specifications and tolerances for beer varieties
- Work with quality manager to develop and refine lab testing
- Help establish a sensory program
- Assess quality of the beer throughout the brewing process
Skills Needed:
- Be able to work in a team environment
- Experience with Orchestrated Beer Management Software
- Maintain adequate record keeping
- Must be physically able to lift a minimum of 50lbs or more
- Excellent communication skills
- Mechanical knowledge
- Problem solving skills
- Attention to detail
Work Experience:
- 3-5 years experience in a brewery environment
- Experience in managing employees
- Experience with record keeping
- Brewery equipment maintenance
- Formulating and scaling up beer recipes
