    New Co-Manufacturing & Co-Packing Facility Seeking Qualified Production Manager

    The mission of Craftpack Beverage (CPB) is to be the conduit for producers, brand owners, and entrepreneurs looking to share their beverage product with the world. We bring the capabilities of large co-man/co-pack facilities to low minimum order quantity thresholds, for start-up and scaling beverages or market testing opportunities. Strategically located in Baltimore, MD, we are able to package finished goods into a variety of can and bottle sizes and unit configurations, as well as kegs. In addition to non-alcoholic beverages such as cold brewed coffee, teas and soda, we are able to handle malt-based, spirits and wine for processing and packaging, as well as provide cold chain storage, cold sterilization, and thermal treatment for shelf-stable product.

    Job Overview
    CPB is seeking an experienced, professional Production Manager (PM) for our beverage production operation. Responsibilities will include the oversight of each step in the production process, including planning, coordination, execution and control of manufacturing processes, as well as ensuring that all products are created efficiently and uphold quality standards.

    Our ideal candidate will have experience in beverage production. A minimum of five years of large-scale production experience is preferred, but is not a requirement for consideration. Craftpack intends to produce 150,000 gallons in year one, with expected growth to 750,000 gallons plus.

    This role is a leadership position, reporting to the Director of Operations. Ensuring a safe workplace, meeting production requirements, promoting quality improvement targets, operating sustainably, and having a mindset of achieving excellence is of critical importance. The following reflects the essential functions of this role, but does not restrict the tasks that may be required. Ownership may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this role at any time due to industry and market conditions.

    Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities
    - Oversee sanitation and maintenance of all production facilities, including production floor, storage and packaging areas. Look to incorporate elements of lean manufacturing principles as appropriate
    - Production floor operations, storing and control of product Work-In-Progress (WIP)
    - Work with team to develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for all aspects of production: production, WIP, packaging, facility maintenance, equipment preventative maintenance and QA/QC
    - Hold self and team accountable for adhering to SOP’s as well as safety and hygiene standards throughout the production floor
    - Oversee creation of production, WIP and packaging schedules, ensuring product availability in coordination with customer project timelines
    - Responsible for all aspects of the full employment life cycle of direct reports – hiring, reviews, terminations, etc.
    - Maintain all legally required and proprietary documentation related to Craftpack operations in a concise and organized fashion
    - Manage key production requirements and set and monitor KPI’s
    - Manage bottling, canning, kegging and delivery processes
    - Manage material sourcing, inventories, and relationships with key suppliers and vendors
    - Production floor improvements
    - Implement, maintain, and adhere to production record keeping and department budgeting
    - Represent the company at trade events and liaise with customers
    - Adhere to environmental and safety regulations and acts in compliance with US laws and accepted business ethics
    - Must be able and willing to work a variable shift schedule that is dependent upon the operational needs of Craftpack which may require long days, weekends and holidays
    - Follow all company policies & procedures, reflect organizational core values, and strive to maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times. Practice safe work methods and comply with wearing and using the proper PPE 100% of the time while on the production floor
    - Assist team with obtaining and maintaining various third party certification compliance, such as: QAI Organic, Kosher, GMP, HACCP, AIB, ISO 9000 and SQF.

    Job Requirements
    - BS or BA in Business, Management, Operations, Engineering or Chemistry is preferred
    - Minimum 3-5 years of beverage production experience, of which at least 3 were functioning as a head brewer or in a leadership role.
    - Demonstrated experience in operational scale-up while maintaining consistency and quality
    - Knowledge of governmental regulatory programs and food/brewing industry compliance standards, such as OSHA, HACCP and safety standards
    - Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the operation and maintenance of typical beverage production equipment and utilities such as: steam boiler, agitation tanks, compressed gas cylinders and valves, beverage tanks, centrifugal pumps, bottling lines, canning lines, keg washer, fork lift truck, and various process control systems
    - Experience managing a team
    - Experience running a production line and implementing quality assurance schemes
    - Proven ability to use best practice manufacturing techniques to improve process
    - Familiarity with third party audits, such as: AIB, ISO 9000, and SQF
    - Must be at least 21 years old
