    Figueroa Mountain is an award winning, family owned brewery in California’s beautiful Central Coast. We’ve recently grown and added brand new equipment so we are looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to be hands on with the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair of brewery equipment as well as forklifts and refrigeration, boilers and air compressors etc. etc. If you enjoy beer, maybe do a home brew from time to time, take pride in keeping a clean and well organized work space, have a passion to keeping equipment running and are a wiz when it comes to troubleshooting and repairing electrical & mechanical issues we’d love to talk with you.

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Summary/Objective
    The Maintenance Supervisor is hands-on responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all equipment, systems, and processes at Figueroa Mountain Brewing Co. Including but not limited to brewhouse and cellar equipment, canning, bottling and packaging lines, forklifts, refrigeration, boilers, air compressors, water treatment equipment, HVAC and electrical systems.
    Essential Functions

    • Is the single point of contact for systems and maintenance related issues.
    • Work with the Director of Brewery Operations, Head Brewer, and Packaging Supervisor to develop, manage, and implement a preventative maintenance and equipment repair schedule
    • Effectively manage multiple projects with overlapping tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.
    • Ensure operation is conducted in a safe and environmentally friendly manner at all times, identifying and highlighting unsafe work practices and correcting with urgency.
    • Work with Director of Brewery Operations and Human Resources, to lead the safety program.
    • Ensure contractors working at the brewery are adhering to operations requirements and safety standards
    • May assist in the development, design, and management of capital projects with a focus on beer production best practices always front of mind.
    • Travel to other facilities as needed for equipment maintenance and support.
    • Provide on-call support as needed.
    • All other duties as assigned.

    Supervisory Responsibility
    This position will have at least 1 direct report and may serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department.
    Work Environment
    The Maintenance Supervisor works in a manufacturing environment with little or no climate control. Some exposure to conditions that are hot, cold, and/or wet may occur. Awareness of your surroundings, personal protective equipment, and proper attire are important to this position.
    Physical Demands
    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
    The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move cases of beer up to 25 pounds and 50-pound kegs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
    Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
    Travel
    Must be open and able to travel by all methods. This position requires periodic travel to all taproom locations. Occasional travel outside the local area and overnight stays may be required.

    Experience/ Education
    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Associate or degree in mechanicalbachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, engineering, or other industrial science field preferred.
    • Two (2) years of experience working in an industrial environment, preferably in a food or beverage production facility.
    • Demonstrated project management skills.
    • Strong background in mechanical systems such as welding, part fabrication, fluid dynamics, pneumatics, and plumbing is highly desirable.
    • Experience with high-speed bottling/canning/packaging is highly desirable.
    • A high competence and background in electrical systems such as controls, automation, VFDs, PLCs is desirable.
    Additional Eligibility Qualifications
    • Must be at least 21 years of age
    • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
    • Basic PC skills including expertise with MS Office.
    • Strong technical, analytical, and cross-functional problem-solving skills
    • Ability to multitask and adjust to changing priorities
    • Leads by example, acts as an owner, results oriented
    • Experience with food processing equipment is preferred.
    • Experience with brewing equipment is very desirable.
