The Virginia Beer Company is a production brewery and taproom in Williamsburg, VA with a current distribution footprint from Virginia Beach to Richmond.
We have two brewhouses- a 30bbl and a 5bbl pilot system. The 30bbl (currently w/ five 60 bbl FVs and 2 60bbl brite tanks) allows for significant distribution and growth and the 5bbl keeps our taproom interesting and brewers entertained with the freedom to be creative that is too often lost in bigger production breweries.
Ideally we're looking for an experienced (1+ years in a brewpub/brewery) and/or brewing school educated person to join our production team. This position will be responsible for all facets of the brewing process from wort production to cellar work and packaging in cans, draft and small scale bottling of limited release barrel-aged and wild beers.
The job entails everything you'd expect from a production brewing position- dry, wet, hot, cold, long, odd work days/nights full of heavy lifting and cleaning... all with a smile and good attitude. Flexibility in scheduling is absolutely necessary- most weeks will be made up of four 10-hour shifts. Some weekend or night shifts may be required depending on production needs.
Williamsburg is a great college town with a growing beer and food scene. Quality of life is excellent- you're an easy day trip to the beach or the mountains, whatever your fancy.
If you think you'd be a good fit to join our team, please email a resume and cover letter detailing your brewing experience and favorite musicians to jonathan@virginiabeerco.com .
