Vicious Fishes is a fast-growing brewery based in the Triangle area of North Carolina. Our brewery and taproom is located in Angier, NC. We are in the process of establishing two new taproom kitchens in Fuquay-Varina and Apex, NC. Due to this growth, we are currently hiring an Assistant Brewer in our Angier production location.
We are seeking a highly motivated and creative assistant brewer to fill out our growing team and production needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to succeed, excellent communication skills, be a self-starter and a fast-learner with a flexible schedule who has had prior experience in the brewing industry.

- Wort Production
- Milling grain
- Mashing/Lautering
- Boil Kettle management
- Knocking out wort
- Brewhouse CIP
- Maintaining Cleanliness of the Brewery
Cellar Operations
- Yeast management
- Fining
- Transferring batches
- Carbonation
- Tank CIP
- Keg cleaning
- Handling 165 lb kegs
- Packaging beer (kegs only at this time)
Record Keeping
- Keep accurate cellaring and brew logs
- Updates EKOS software accurately
Miscellaneous
- Represent Vicious Fishes at off-site events
- Complete sensory evaluation
- Draft line cleaning
- Discuss any issues with Head Brewer promptly and succinctly
Skills desired but not required:
- Electrical
- Plumbing
- Mechanical aptitude
- Draft System knowledge
- Familiarity with Word and Excel

Physical Requirements:
- Working in a production brewhouse is a very labor intensive job:
- Hot, cold, steamy, foggy, wet conditions
- Loud noise (up to 90db)
- Exposure to potentially hazardous chemicals, hot water, and pressurized vessels
- Exposure to heavy machinery and moving parts
- Wet floors
- Occasional entry into confined spaces
- Sitting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing
- Seeing, talking, hearing, tasting, smelling
- Lifting up to 55 pounds multiple times on a daily basis
- Pushing up to 170 pounds multiple times on a daily basis
