  • Glass thickness for bottle conditioning

    Hi all,
Planning to do some bottling this fall into 22oz bomber style vottles. Was wondering if there is any info out there regarding the thickness of the glass to make a bottle suitable for bottle conditioning. I know that thicker is of course better, but also of course more expensive. So how thick is thick enough?

Those would be fine depending on the bottle pressure. Cap a few with gauges to monitor pressures. Be sure to also check them in the hot sun as they may be store this way. Champagne bottles can take a lot more pressure.

      Bottle Thickness

Spend some money and/or call Sierra Nevada and New Belgium. All bottle conditioned for most of the Portfolio.
You just need to have the yeast to beer ratio correct. Go with CalGlass.

        Internal pressure

Attach you can observe the specifications for the NRW 500 ml beer bottles generally used for the wheat beers in Germany, sorry it is in German, however, see the information about the CO2 Gehalt (content) and Innendruck T101 (Internal pressure), this is the internal pressure resistance of a filled beer bottle at a 18ÂșC room temperature. Safety measure to prevent the bottles from bursting during transport or management.
