Position: Assistant Brewer
Reports to: Head Brewer
Position Type: Full-time
Pay Rate: Dependent on Experience
Date Available: Now
The Towne Park Assitant Brewer is eager to learn and help manage our brewing department, including brewing, cleaning, recipe formulation, and a high adherence to our quality control and safety standards. Key factors to success in this position are: Passion for delicious beer made well, a fantastic team oriented attitude, high attention to detail, a quality control freak, love working in the beer industry and a desire for personal and professional growth.
Job Duties
Help curate and collaborate new recipes
Work with head brewer to build and execute brewhouse schedule to fulfill growing demand
Follow brewing and cleanliness SOP’s
Maintain the cleanliness of the tanks, floors, equipment, deck, etc
Adhere to quality control guidelines to uphold excellent quality of beer and it's longevity
Continuous review of the beer, including microbiological stability and taste
Completion of paperwork and reporting (using paperwork and Ekos) in an accurate and timely manner
Create and maintain work logs of quality assurance tests and production stage timings
Keep team up to date with process and equipment changes
Responsible for the safe operation of equipment like inflow pipes and tanks
Strive to increase workplace attitude and moral. Always be approachable
Set a good example with regard to punctuality, attendance, attitude and hygiene
Communicate regularly and efficiently with fellow employees and management
Maintain a harmonious work relationship between yourself, your co-workers and customers
Able to safely operate forklift- we can provide forklift training
Efficiently manage time
Multi-task while being detail and quality focused
Qualifications:
The "Must Have" List:
Must be 21 years or older
Laser focused on quality control and safety
Attention to detail
Hard worker
Positive, team-oriented attitude
Ability to safely & frequently move up to 170 lbs
The "It's a Plus" List:
Accredited brewing education
Experience in a production brewery or brewpub
Strong understanding of the fundamentals of brewing science
Strong recipe formulation skills
Training in quality control practices
Computer Literacy
Strong mechanical aptitude
Ability to maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude
Flexible schedule requirements, weekends and some holidays
