The Star Spangled Brewing Co. (Clarksville, TN) is growing and is in need of a Brewer or assistant brewer to create delicious craft beers!
The Brewer will need to do the following:
Produce wort in specification - including milling, mashing, lautering, boiling, knockout, yeast pitching, and clean up.
Perform cellar work - including CIP tanks, dry-hopping, fermentation/conditioning monitoring, product transfers, keg filling, preparing casks, etc.
Harvest Yeast - very basic yeast harvesting and storage; no propagation or intensive lab work.
Answer questions from staff and customers about our beer.
Maintain a clean and neat environment.
Job Requirements. The candidate must have:
- At least 12 months experience either producing wort or handling finished product, or comparable education
- A Thorough understanding of brewing science.
- Ability to independently identify product issues and propose solutions.
- Basic mechanical ability - must be able to (or willing to learn) how to change pump seals, temporarily fix issues with parts on-hand.
- Ability to interact with staff and guests and positively impact their experience.
- Availability to work nights/weekends as necessary for production, events, etc.
- Patience to work in tight-quarters, noisy, wet environment for extended hours.
- Experience with barrel-aging and mixed fermentation is a plus.
