    Fifty West Brewing Company is a GABF and World Beer Cup award winning brewery becoming a rising force in the Ohio and Midwest craft beer market. Since opening its original brewpub in 2012 Fifty West has launched an additional production facility and taproom complete with an entire campus focused around outdoor sports/lifestyle. With 4 core canned products, a looming seasonal lineup and draft availability the brewery is pacing for a production output of 10,000+ bbls in 2019.

    Currently employing a diverse brewery work force we are in search of all types of brewery team positions whose final role will be dependent on the candidate's skillset. This experienced full-time team member should have a passion for the craft and a drive to succeed. Our environment is fast paced and demanding; constantly pushing the limits of our skills, our tools, and our creativity to innovate in every aspect of what we do. Working here is challenging, but fun. Also, there’s free beer.


    Position Overview
    Brew team member would report to Production Manager and could be responsible for the duties involved with the fermentation cellar, wort production and all beer released to packaging. The ideal candidate is someone who can adapt to any brewing environment. Above all, they should have a deep passion for producing consistently high-quality beer and be eager to learn, a great work ethic, a positive attitude and a desire to be part of the Fifty West brewery team.

    Essential Duties
    • Operate brewery equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
    • Complete all necessary paperwork accurately and on time.
    • Perform all tasks in an efficient, productive manner, and in accordance with Company Safety Policies.
    • Maintain inventory as needed. Report all low levels of inventory to your supervisor when necessary.
    • Communicate regularly and efficiently with Fifty West Brewing Company staff.
    • Arrive to each shift on time with a positive attitude.Assist other departments when necessary, including but not limited to brewing, and QC.


    Other Requirements/Skills
    • Follow all SOPs and safety protocols.
    • Make observations of efficiencies and inefficiencies.
    • Make recommendations for equipment and processes with formal reports or an email.
    • Contribute to improvements and processes required to gain efficiency and quality assurance
    • Contribute to the evolution of the brewery
    • Complete special projects assigned by supervisors.
    • Remain calm, flexible, and able to work through setbacks and emergencies.
    • Ability to know when to ask for help from the Production Manager if help is needed to prevent mistakes and ultimately get the job done.
    • Able to work through challenges by setting a professional and upbeat example.
    • Writing and math skills necessary to accurately complete a dilution calculations, volume, flow, density, weight, length, pressure and other unit conversions, calculate beer volumes/losses, and alcohol content.
    • Consistently read and write orders and draft emails.
    • Ability to complete forms.
    • Communicate clearly with co*workers and managers, verbally and written.
    • Frequent problem solving.
    • Minimum of 1+ years’ experience in cellaring or brewing in a production brewery is required, 3+ years preferred.
    • Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends, holidays, and nights.
    • Knowledge of industrial controls and instrumentation.
    • Ability to interface and use simple spreadsheets/google documents/forms
    • Familiarity with production management software (Orchestrated Beer/EKOS/BeerRun etc) is a plus
    • Fork lift certification a plus (not required).



    Physical Requirement/Working Conditions:

    • Capable of standing on your feet for long periods of time, 8-10 hours per day.
    • Physical ability to lift 55+ lbs to shoulder height.
    • Ability to work in a noisy environment.
    • Capable of following all safety procedures while around working with potentially hazardous machinery, chemicals etc.
    • Ability to work all shifts, including traditional work days, nights and weekends.
    • Must have reliable transportation.
