    Oviedo Brewing Company – Assistant/Head Brewer Position

    Oviedo Brewing Company is looking for an experienced dynamic individual to be part of our amazing team as an Assistant/Head Brewer. The ideal candidate should have at least 5+ years professional brewing experience. We are looking for a candidate that has worked on a commercial brewing system. A formal brewing education is a plus but not necessary. He or She will be responsible for the beer production, brew house operations, cellar work, packaging tasks, and should be very thorough on documentation. He/She shall report up to the owner.

    This is a very hands-on position. Flexibility with schedule and ability to work weekends and evenings is a must. The candidate must be able to multi-task efficiently, problem solve, and a team player. Thorough knowledge of brewing process, quality, and ingredients is mandatory. This is a full time salary position. Some benefits are included. Some travel may be required for trade shows and promotion.

    Oviedo Brewing Company is located in Oviedo, Florida at the Oviedo Mall. We have an 8500sqft facility with our own set hours. Oviedo is located just outside of Orlando, Florida. We are few miles away from the largest university in the country (University of Central Florida). We are about 35 minutes away from all the tourist attraction such as Disney and Universal.
    Along with the brewery, the location has full kitchen. OBC is looking to open end of October/Early November 2018.

    Requirements:

    • Minimum 5 years professional brewing/cellaring experience
    • Formal brewing education preferred, but not required
    • Principal focus on quality in end product and safety in operations
    • Proven ability to ensure quality and efficiency in brewing and fermentation operations
    • Ability to work independently and with others
    • Must be able to multi-task and problem solve efficiently
    • Ability to strictly adhere to established recipes/processes
    • Excellent organizational skills
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Safe chemical handling knowledge
    • Mechanical aptitude - knowledge of machinery and systems
    • Strong work ethic and dedication to improvement of product quality and processes
    • Ability to safely and repeatedly lift 70 lbs.
    • Fork lift certification a plus
    • Must be able to accommodate flexible schedule including nights and weekend shift work


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Execute day-to-day wort production
    • Complete cellar operations including fermentation, finishing, and yeast management
    • Conduct CIP and general cleaning
    • Packaging operations - keg filling and canning line (Future phase)
    • Responsible for documentation of brewing activities
    • Conduct preventive maintenance on equipment
    • Maintain safe and clean working environment and comply with all applicable procedures, rules and regulations
    • Keg cleaning
    • Ad-hoc duties as assigned by OBC
