Thin Man Brewery is looking for an experienced individual to join our team as Brewer. The ideal candidate should have at least two years professional brewing experience. Brewer is responsible for all aspects of the brewing process including brew house operations, cellar work & packaging tasks, and will report to the Head Brewer.
Candidate must be able to multi-task efficiently, problem solve, and work well with others and independently. Thorough knowledge of process, quality, and ingredients is required.
Thin Man is a rapidly expanding brewery located in Buffalo, NY. Operations take place on two systems, one 30 barrel Newlands at our production facility and one 15 barrel at our pub location. 2019 production is expected to be 7,500 barrels, quickly ramping up beyond that.
Requirements:
• 2 years professional brewing/cellaring experience preferred
• Formal brewing education preferred
• Ability to work independently and with others
• Must be able to multi-task and problem solve efficiently
• Ability to strictly adhere to established recipes/processes
• Excellent organizational skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Safe chemical handling knowledge
• Strong work ethic and dedication to improvement of product quality and processes
• Ability to safely and repeatedly lift 70 lbs.
• Fork lift certification a plus
Key Responsibilities:
• Execute day-to-day wort production
• Complete cellar operations including fermentation, finishing, and yeast management
• Conduct CIP and general cleaning
• Packaging operations - keg filling and canning line duties
• Responsible for documentation of brewing activities
• Maintain safe and clean working environment and comply with all applicable procedures, rules and regulations
• Keg cleaning
• Ad-hoc duties as assigned
