  • Brewery Production Manager - 42 North Brewing Company, East Aurora, NY

    42 North Brewing Company is currently seeking a Production Manager to support its continued growth and expansion plans. The primary responsibility of the Production Manager is the planning, oversight, and communication of the brewing production schedule. The Production Manager must work with the Brewing and Packaging departments to create a practical schedule that meets the needs of the facility as a whole. This position will further support overall brewing operations by reporting critical process data and making process recommendations.

    Responsibilities:
    • Coordinate with management team on production, planning, and forecasting
    • Support brewery’s core values, focus, and mission statement
    • Monitor daily manufacturing operations to meet production goals
    • Weekly scheduling of brewery staff and activities

    • Work and communicate well across all levels of a brewery operation (management, packaging, customer, suppliers)
    • Maintain and update Inventory Management software – Ekos Brewmaster®
    • Procurement of raw materials and management of current hop contracts
    • Manage finished beer inventory and coordinate shipments to distributors
    • Manage brewery barrelhouse projects
    • Ensure all OSHA protocols are observed in the brewery and maintain records
    • In-depth knowledge of all safe chemical-handling procedures including personal protection equipment such as gloves and goggles
    • Offer suggestions on process improvements
    • Conduct annual performance reviews with any direct reports
    • Facilitate vetting, hiring, and training of production staff



    Physical Demands:
    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, use hands to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk and climb stairs, stoop in close quarters, grip and manipulate fittings several times a day, and read and understand a variety of scientific instruments and calculations. The employee is occasionally required to kneel or crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds throughout the day. This includes lifting bags/boxes of hops, large process hoses, bags of filtrate, etc. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.

    Qualifications:
    • 2+ years of production brewery experience
    • Brewing experience on 20+ bbl system is a plus
    • Working knowledge of mechanical systems: brewhouse, chiller, boiler, keg washer, canning line
    • Excellent leadership skills with the proven ability to lead and motivate a team and maintain a positive workplace culture. Ability to develop and manage productive relationships with staff members.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
