Heaven & Ale Brewing Co. in Chattanooga, Tennessee is seeking a Head Brewer to grow our brewery operations. Since opening in November 2017, Heaven & Ale has gained a loyal following and created buzz throughout Chattanooga and the surrounding area. Now we need an experienced and enthusiastic brewer to help us grow our business, building on a successful existing operation and core portfolio while helping drive the direction of the brewery’s future.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Take ownership of all brewery operations, including production, packaging, sanitation, and record keeping
· Develop and adhere to the brew schedule to drive efficiency, maintain consistent availability, and deliver new releases that keep the brand relevant and exciting
· Develop and maintain quality control procedures
· Marry talent, creativity, and a keen eye toward solid business practices in the development of new recipes
· Carefully monitor and maintain records of inventory for raw materials and replenish as needed and within budget
· Train and oversee assistant brewer
· Drive and manage growth into larger production volumes, additional packaging and distribution, and brand-building endeavors (collaborations, competitions, etc.)
· Work closely with business owners to foster a culture of positive teamwork, strong work ethic, and an unwavering focus on the core purpose and principles of the business
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
· At least 2 years of commercial brewing experience
· Knowledge of brewing science and mechanical operations; yeast propagation & water chemistry knowledge preferred
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Self-starter who leads by example and fosters a positive, team-oriented environment
· Knowledge of brewery safety procedures, including machinery, chemicals, and other potential hazards
· Ability to lift and move heavy objects
