Great Raft Brewing in Shreveport, LA is looking for a Chief Brewer to function in a leadership role with responsibility for all production operations. More specifically, we are looking for someone who possesses the following:
5-10 years of commercial experience in a similar role with expectations to be compensated within top of industry standards.
Relentless focus on quality of the entire operation.
Depth of experience and team-player mindset.
Great awareness of the craft beer industry standards, challenges and trends.
Possess a small business mindset but play big. Work hard, spend company money like it’s your own, but proudly produce world-class beer.
Communication style is open, frequent and precise.
Requirements:
Must be 21 years of age or older
Have a passion for great beer
Agree to and follow the policy of no Santana, Jimmy Buffet or Rush played on brewery premises
Understand brewing, cellaring, filtration, and packaging processes
Passionate about quality and cleanliness
Follow established SOPs with accuracy
Refuse to brew anything with pumpkin
Understand the complexity of flavor vs the intensity of flavor
Be vocal about continuous improvement
Highly motivated and positive attitude
Strong organization skills and attention to detail
Work well independently, as well as part of a team
Be an advocate for safety
Strong analytical and problem solving skills with strong communication and documentation skills
A high mechanical aptitude
Flexible and willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done right (Shift work, evening shifts, weekends and overtime)
Reach, Climb, Stand, Walk, Crouch, and Lift regularly throughout duration of shift, including continual dragging, carrying, and manipulation of hoses, pumps, parts, buckets, carts, tools. It’s a production brewery, you know the drill
Be able to lift 75 lbs, move 165 lbs
Safely operate forklift and pallet jack
Mix and use chemicals safely
This full-time position will consist of performing any and all tasks related to the brewery, including but not limited to the following duties and responsibilities:
Raw materials handling
Production of wort
Maintain cleaning schedules and procedures
Troubleshooting and reporting of equipment issues
CIP of tanks and general brewery cleanliness
