    Outer Light Brewing Company is seeking an Assistant Brewer/Cellarman!

    This position includes assisting in brewing activities, cellar, packaging and shipping activities. Outer Light is a small to medium sized 15 BBL brewery in which the candidate would expect to participate in all aspects of brewery activities.

    Shifts: 1st and 2nd shifts. Must be available to work 2nd shifts as needed (~12p – 8 pm).

    Job Responsibilities:
    • Perform routine cleaning tasks including, but not limited to brewery equipment, floors, drains, grain room, warehouse, and associated spaces
    • CIP of fermentation vessels, brite tanks, brewhouse vessels and hoses
    • Keg Cleaning
    • Maintain accurate and legible records
    • Weighing out hops and perform dry hopping procedures
    • Perform the following brewing tasks: milling, brewing beer, graining out, transferring of beer, and packaging
    • Monitor beers throughout fermentation (gravity, pH, temperature), which may include occasional weekend shifts and weekend monitoring
    • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment and follow safe working practices
    • Processing of fruits, spices, and any other products used in the brewing process
    • Assist in barrel aging projects
    • Operate forklift and pallet jack
    • Operation of Wild Goose canning line as needed
    • Prepare shipments, load, and unload distributor trucks
    • Assist other brewing personnel as needed

    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Production brewery experience preferred, but will consider 3 plus years of homebrewing experience
    • Brewing certification, diploma, or degree a plus
    • Ability to multi-task while working in a safe and efficient manner
    • Excellent organizational and communication skills
    • A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
    • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs
    • Fork-lift certification a plus, but will provide training
    • Ability to work with little to no supervision
    • Is proactive and takes initiative to solve problems
    • Meticulous about sanitation and keeping things clean and organized
    • Mechanical aptitude a plus
    • Great attention to detail

    This is a full time position. Pay is based on experience. Looking to fill position in January 2019.
