  • Trench Drains for Wood Subfloor

    Hello,

We will be having a floor installed (hopefully by a contractor) on top of our existing wood floor. We understand this isn't ideal but unfortunately that's what we have to do.

Having a very tough time finding a trench drain system that is designed for doing this type of application. We will have to cut a hole in our subfloor perpendicular to the floor joists, reinforce underneath and install the drain to the right grade to be slightly lower than the 3/4" plywood we will be laying on top and the additional floor system on top of that.

Anyone have any suggestions on a pre-built trench drain that could be used for this? Even if we had to modify it slightly just looking for options.

    Thanks!

    Ryan

Any update on how this worked out? I may be running into a similar scenario.
