Position Overview
The Maintenance Specialist is responsible for maintaining the safe and efficient function of the offices, brewing, packaging and warehousing operations at the production facility. This will include equipment maintenance, spare parts inventory, metal fabrication & repairs, troubleshooting & diagnosis of brewery systems in accordance with Crooked Stave’s Standard Operating Procedures as directed by the Packaging Manager.

Reporting Relationships
This position reports to the Packaging Manager and frequently collaborates with all areas of production.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities

• Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
• Address process or equipment breakdowns quickly and effective to get production back on track as soon as possible
• Monitor and maintain performance of the following critical brewery systems: boilers & associated steam delivery components; canning, bottling, kegging and associated packaging equipment; HVAC, glycol chiller, and refrigeration system; brewhouse, cellar, and auxiliary controls; mill and malt handling system; pumps, motors, and small equipment generally used in brewing
• Establish and maintain Preventive Maintenance Program for all equipment
• Order and maintain appropriate spare parts for all equipment
• Ensure the efficient and safe operation of all equipment
• Maintain a safe work environment in accordance with OSHA regulations and Crooked Stave safety standards
• Maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization around the brewery
• Alert Packaging Manager immediately of any equipment performance issues that impact production schedules or impact beer quality
• Help out on Packaging line when needed and requested by Packaging Manager
• Other duties as assigned

• Ability to work in diverse environments, flexible hours with some weekend and/or overnight shifts as needed

Qualification Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, required
• Ability to work independently as a self-starter with highly effective time management skills
• Minimum of two (2) years of relevant technical experience in the brewing industry, food/beverage manufacturing, or similar production environment
• Strong mechanical, electrical, welding, fabrication, plumbing, and troubleshooting skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Programs
• Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed based on needs
• Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl
• Ability to work safely with potentially hazardous chemicals

• Must be physically capable of standing for long periods of time

• Must be physically capable of lifting and carrying 55+ lbs. and maneuvering up to 165 lbs.
• Must be physically capable of working in small and confined spaces
• Must be physically capable of bending over, twisting kneeling for the duration of a shift
