  • Packaging & Cellar Technician - Odyssey Beerwerks (Arvada, CO)

    Odyssey Beerwerks, located in north metro Denver, is seeking a kick-ass, self-driven, mechanically inclined PACKAGING AND CELLAR TECHNICIAN to join our crew of dedicated craft beer lovers. With a steady growth plan, we are looking for a motivated rookie or experienced veteran that wants to shine. This position will report to the Director of Brewery Operations and has lots of room for growth. Pay type and amount will be based on experience.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include:
    • Packaging work including: canning line set up, operation, and maintenance, keg filling, and occasional bottling
    • Cellar work such as washing kegs, CIP/SIP/purge, tank transfers, gravity readings
    • Fermentation monitoring
    • Detailed, accurate record keeping
    • Inventory management, including coldroom organization
    • Brewery equipment and general facility maintenance, organization and cleanliness
    • Assist production crew in various aspects of their roles
    • Represent Odyssey Beerwerks at various functions (festivals, tap takeovers, beer pairings, sensory trainings, taproom events, etc.)
    • Having a good time. This includes participation in choice of music to be played in the brewery, “sampling” beer, laughing at jokes and witty observations/comments, and contributing witty comments/observations
    • …Oh, did we mention cleaning? Lots of cleaning

    EXPECTATIONS OF QUALIFIED CANDIDATES include:
    • Self-motivated problem solver with excellent time management skills
    • Strong mechanical aptitude (you’ll be working on a canning line a lot)
    • Very stringent with cleanliness and CIP procedures
    • Flexible schedule requirements, including occasional weekend work
    • Must be able to frequently lift up to 75 pounds and move up to 165 pounds (full keg weight)
    • Detail oriented
    • Strong communication skills
    • Great sense of humor, appreciation for a variety of music, and sense of fun
    • A passion for craft beer (duh)

    Desired qualifications:
    • Experience with canning line operation, maintenance, and repair
    • Likes to be part of fast paced, team-oriented environment
    • Great sense of humor, appreciation for a variety of music, and seeker of a brewery to call home
    • A deep-rooted appreciation for sarcasm
