Austin Brothers Beer Company is looking for an experienced full time Brewer/Cellarperson to join our team. Austin Brothers Beer Co. is a fast growing established brewery that has been open 3 years. The brewery is located in Alpena which is a smaller city that is located in North East Michigan. This is a great opportunity for a brewer who wants to grow with the company. There are some requirements so please read below to see if the job is the right fit for you.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
• Performs all brewhouse operations and all aspects of the process for wort production.
• Assist Head Brewer in managing inventory.
• Maintain batch specific brewing and cellaring documentation.
• Performing CIP procedures including Brewhouse, Fermentor, Brite tank, Plate and Frame Filter, and Kegging hardware.
● Daily beer monitoring= gravities, CO2, tank temperature controllers.
● Beer carbonation and testing carbonation levels with a Zahm.
● Yeast management.
● Dry hopping/Fruit Additions.
• Kegging beer as needed.
• Work Canning/Bottling Line.
● Comply with all production safety SOP’s and OSHA safety standards.
● Forklift/electric pallet jack operation.
● Maintain cleanliness of brewery equipment and work areas.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must be 21 years of age.
● Minimum of one full year experience as a Brewer/Cellar Person at a production brewery.
● Have a passion for Craft beer.
● Someone who takes pride in their work.
• Ability to work as a team, and take direction from Head Brewer/Management.
• Ability to lift up to 165 pounds.
• Ability to work in a standing,kneeling, crouched position for a prolonged period of time.
• Computer literacy.
• Mechanically inclined.
